As we reflect on this past year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the incredible strides our organization has made. Our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and passionate community have come together to create a brighter future for countless dogs in need.
This year, we have successfully rescued and rehomed over 224 dogs, each with their unique story and journey, to a loving home. Our initiatives, such as adoption events at pet stores across the city, and partnerships with local businesses have been pivotal in increasing awareness and support for our cause.
We have also begun discussions around new outreach programs to provide spay and neuter options to communities in need. We continue to provide education and promote responsible pet ownership within our community. Our ongoing collaborations and fundraisers, such as the Sarcan Drop & Go program, continue to provide us with much-needed vital funds, as does our bartending services, which once again was our strongest source of income for this fiscal year.
Additionally, our participation in events like the FoodTruck Wars, DTNYXE Sidewalk Sale, and Crossmount Cider Company Dog Paw-ty has helped us connect with more supporters and potential adopters than ever before.
However, this year has not been without its challenges. We have faced significant difficulties in recruiting and retaining foster homes, which are the backbone of our rescue operations. Finding temporary homes for our dogs has been increasingly tough, impacting our capacity to rescue more dogs. Despite these hurdles, our resolve remains strong.
As we look forward to the upcoming year, our commitment to saving lives and advocating for animal welfare remains at the forefront. We are determined to overcome these challenges with the continued support of our incredible community. Together, we aim to create a world where every dog has a happy tail. On behalf of the Saskatoon Dog Rescue’s board of directors, I am pleased to present the 2023-24 Annual Report.
Thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
